Painting and Cleaning East Valley Men's Center for A New Leaf
The agents at Keller Williams Arizona Realty spent their 2024 Red Day painting and cleaning several sections of East Valley Men’s Center for A New Leaf. The building had not received any new paint inside for over 20 years!
Since 1971, A New Leaf has provided assistance to those most in need in our community. They help families, children, and adults overcome the challenges they face. Communities are stronger when families are safe, have a secure home, and are able to provide for themselves and their children.
A New Leaf’s East Valley Men’s Center (EVMC) has 100 beds. It provides shelter and support services to single men. These men are part of the largest homeless population in Arizona, and the population that struggles most to find assistance. Providing a hand up and not a hand out, the East Valley Men’s Center is a “working man’s facility.” The residents, with assistance, must secure employment and save money for their transition to safe, stable housing. Serving over 525 men a year, the East Valley Men’s Center works with residents to build a personalized housing stability plan. In turn, this fosters physical and mental health, financial independence, and social responsibility.
EVMC 2024 Red Day Painting & Cleaning
Agents and volunteers spent their time working on several areas of EVMC throughout 2024 Red Day:
- Agents spent time on painting the main housing room, the day room, and the back resident’s kitchen area with bright paint to cover the dark and dingy walls, thereby creating a warm and welcoming environment for residents.
- Volunteers and others also donated goods and clothing that the residents so desperately need. Everything from an Armoire to over 300 men’s dress shirts were donated to the men of EVMC.
2024 Red Day Another Resounding Success for A New Leaf!
Don Aldrich, Chairperson of the Culture Committee, notes that it would not have been possible to complete 2024 Red Day without the help of several Keller Williams Arizona Realty Affiliate Partners.
Agents, volunteers, and residents enjoyed a fantastic BBQ lunch prepared by the awesome State 48 Roofing team. Definitely a highlight of the day’s events!
Many of KWAZ’s affiliate partners also pitched in to help with the painting and cleaning. We and A New Leaf are so very grateful!
