What is CCIM?

Someone who holds a CCIM designation is a “Certified Commercial Investment Member.” The CCIM designation remains the gold standard for professionals. To obtain the designation, applicants must complete an advanced program of rigorous courses and training covering financial analysis, market analysis, and the demonstration of significant experience in the commercial real estate industry. This designation covers multiple professions such as:

  • Brokers
  • Asset Managers
  • Investors
  • Developers
  • Appraisers
  • Lenders
  • Allied Professionals

There is much value for a commercial real estate agent in obtaining CCIM designation. CCIMs are proven experts in analysis covering users, investments, markets, and finances. They also have expertise in negotiations. Because CCIM offers real-world education, those with the designation help their clients:

  • Optimize the value of their real estate
  • Develop a full and comprehensive strategy to manage their real estate
  • Maximize returns on their investments
  • Help make better informed decisions
  • Minimize risks across the board
