Community Partnerships Strengthen Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiatives

Community Partnerships represented at the DEI Culture Fair November 2022

Community partnerships are valuable for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Many organizations offer a tremendous amount of support, activities, and resources for market centers. As a result, leveraging these partnerships helps agents in several ways. This includes helping agents expand their network, learn more about their local community, and find ways they can be more involved in volunteer activities.

In November of 2022 the Diversity Equity, and Inclusion Committee at Keller Williams Arizona Realty hosted a Culture Fair. The event featured several speakers from community organizations.  The Keynote address was given by Jackie Johnson, the City of Scottsdale Diversity Program Director. Following the Culture Fair, members of the Committee presented certificates of appreciation to each of the participants.

Community Partnerships with Local Cities

Bringing city representatives to DEI initiatives helps highlight many efforts that cities are taking to promote issues important to their citizens. Topics included diversity in hiring and understanding various housing issues. Participants shared how cities are being responsive with a focus on equitable outcomes.

The city of Scottsdale and the city of Tempe both had representatives who participated in the Culture Fair. Jackie Johnson, City of Scottsdale Diversity Program Director gave the Keynote Address. Dr. Velicia Humes, City of Tempe Chief Diversity Officer, participated in the planning process. Working with the cities places a focus on their DEI efforts and the challenges each city faces to embrace equitable solutions.
