(Scottsdale, Arizona — January 9, 2023): Keller Williams Arizona Realty awarded its $500 2023 scholarship for real estate to Sydney Brown, a student at Scottsdale Community College. Sydney submitted her qualifying application for consideration among several other applicants. A committee consisting of representatives from both Scottsdale Community College and Keller Williams Arizona Realty chose Sydney as the winner.
Kionna Comer, Chairperson of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee at Keller Williams Arizona Realty, noted a number of applications were in the running for the 2023 scholarship. “We continue to be pleased with the applicants and the efforts they put into their entries,” Comer states. “Our committee is excited to partner with Scottsdale Community College to help a student realize their goals in the field of real estate. We plan to make a formal presentation of the scholarship to Sydney in the near future.”
David Morse, CEO/Team Leader at Keller Williams Arizona Realty, believes the scholarship program recognizes the importance of providing diversity students with the support they need to pursue a career in real estate. “This scholarship will help Sydney on her journey in real estate,” Morse notes. “Keller Williams Arizona Realty is a leader in promoting diversity, equity, and opportunities for all. The Keller Williams Arizona Realty 2023 Scholarship criteria includes the following:
- Preference given to a member of an underrepresented group in real estate, such as Indigenous, Hispanic, Black, Other [e.g. person with a disability, LGBTQIA+].
- Financial need, as demonstrated in their essay.
- Qualifies for in-county tuition.
- Enrolled in Scottsdale Community College’s Real Estate: Prelicense Certificate of Completion (CCL) program, which includes REA201 and REA290AH.
- Must be eligible to legally become a licensed real estate agent in Arizona according to Arizona Department of Real Estate regulations located at https://azre.gov/licensees/original-licensing-information.
- Preference is given to students who reside in Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, and Gilbert.
