Meet Sharon Conte! An interview with Sharon Conte, REALTOR® at Keller Williams Arizona Realty. Sharon and Melissa Robinson are the “team” behind Northern Arizona Real Estate Team. Meet Sharon Conte!

 

An interview with Sharon Conte, REALTOR® at Keller Williams Arizona Realty. Sharon and Melissa Robinson are the “team” behind Northern Arizona Real Estate Team. They are active in a number of beautiful Arizona cities and towns, including:

Our Mission Statement:  Our philosophy is simple: clients come first. 1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background in the local area.

 

I have been involved in Real Estate since 1985 working within many areas of the industry. I owned a small business in California for 12 years, and running it day-to-day helped me understand that accountability played a big role in shaping my business mindset. Building spec homes for resale has helped give me experience in the planning and construction process as a Real Estate investor, owner/partner in apartment buildings, single family homes, and multi-family properties. All of these experiences give me an extensive understanding and appreciation of the Real Estate industry. 

 

I came to Flagstaff in 2009 while my son attended college in Phoenix. While in Flagstaff, I managed a 132-unit apartment complex for several years and then transitioned over to full time REALTOR® shortly after. I then expanded the business into Sedona and the Verde Valley. As a result, my business partner Melissa Robinson and I cover Flagstaff, Williams, Sedona, and the Verde Valley, and all the beautiful cities, towns, and communities in the area.

 

On a personal note, I’m over the moon excited as a guy I had a crush on in high school recently reached out to me via Facebook. We met for the first time after not seeing each other for 45 years and that crush came flooding back. We formed an instant connection, and we are now engaged. I have a wonderful son, a great daughter-in-law, and two very precious grandchildren. My life has been an amazing journey filled with wonderful memories with many more exciting adventures to come.

 

 

2. What specifically brought you to Keller Williams Arizona Realty at Prescott?

 

I came to Keller Williams Arizona Realty at Prescott after attending multiple unplugged series of seminars where Keller Williams mega agents shared their stories on how they started and succeeded in the business. I knew there was a big opportunity awaiting me with Keller Williams. So, I began with enrolling in all the training I could, and participating in all of the networking opportunities.

 

3. What do you like most about working at this brokerage? 

 

I like the web of networking and getting to know fellow agents throughout the US. This has helped us to grow our real estate business into being 90% referral-based. Since so many people want to come to Arizona, we are in a good position to help people moving from other locations to learn about Northern Arizona.

 

4. Do you have a favorite client story you would like to share where you believe you helped them the most?

 

I will never forget my very first client experience. I took a family out to view a home in Flagstaff.  Being new to an area that freezes, I also did not know at the time that a lot of the homes in our area are owned by second homeowners. When owners do not live there during the winter, they turn their water off so the pipes don’t freeze. 

 

Well, my client came up from Phoenix after a long drive and needed to use the restroom. After using the restroom, he came out and let me know that there was no water so he could not flush. I had to contact the listing agent and inform her of my unusual dilemma. Our solution was that I went to her office which was luckily not too far and filled several large buckets of water. I then took the buckets back to the home and carried them in so I could fill the toilet to flush it. As a new agent, that experience opened my eyes; I learned that anything could happen in the Real Estate business!

 

5. What is the secret to your success?

 

The secret to our success is follow up. We follow up with all potential leads and referrals. We also reach out and touch our current clients at least several times a year with phone calls, texts, birthday cards, and home anniversary cards

 

 

6. If you could give one piece of helpful advice to a new real estate agent, what would that be?

 

I have several!

  1. Follow-up, follow-up, leads, leads, it’s all about keeping your pipeline full of potential clients. 
  2. Determine what makes you different from all the other real estate agents vying for the same business. What makes you stand out above the crowd? Use that to your advantage!
  3. Be top of mind with potential clients and the clients who have purchased a home from you, as they will eventually sell and you want to be their REALTOR®.
  4. Talk to everyone you know and those you don’t know and let them know you are a REALTOR®. If they are not looking for help right now, ask them who they might know who can use your help.

 

7. Where will we meet Sharon Conte in the future?

 

I think I will always be involved in Real Estate. My main love is family, sharing my life with my new fiancé, and spending time with my two beautiful grandchildren. I also plan to expand my adventures by traveling to as many places as I can.
